Details: Chanhassen has a great parade every year to celebrate our Independence and this year was no different.  This was our second year at the parade with the Ovations Amigo and we were back with mardi gras beads by popular demand.  Look for this vehicle at select locations around the area.
Notes: Thank you to all the local residents for coming to watch the parade.  It was a hot one!  Remember to stop in during July with your ticket to see if you win one of our prizes (Grand Prize - Spa Package with a one hour massage and facial and $50 in product, 2nd prize - two $25 gift certificates, 3rd prize - five $10 gift certificates)

What: Chanhassen July 3rd Business Expo
Date: Saturday, July 3rd 2010
Where: Chanhassen City Center Park
Details: Businesses in the Chanhassen area have booths setup to showcase their goods or services.  Their were also food booths from local businesses, rides for the kids and of course a beer tent and live music!

  SAVE Fashion Show
What: 5th Annual Fashion Show to benefit SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education)
Date: Friday, May 21st, 2010
Where: BayView Event Center - Excelsior
Details: This great event featured local celebrities modeling trendsetting clothing from area boutiques. Master of Ceremonies for the Fashion Show was KS95 radio personality Dez, making this her third appearance at the event. Models included Elizabeth Reis and John Hanson from KSTP's Twin Cities Live, Staci Mathews from KS95's Moon and Staci show, Meteorologist Paul Douglas, 102.9 Lite FM Radio Personality Beth Kidd, WCCO TV's Rebekah Wood and Esme Murphy, radio personality and entrepreneur Teri Knight and Chris Feytag, KARE11's Fitness Expert. Fabulous fashions, great food, a fantastic silent auction and music by The Scotts made this wonderful evening. 
Notes: A Big Thank You to our own Mark Steine who organized the entire fashion show with the lights, music, models etc.  The Ovations team of Mark, Lyn, Sharon and Addy also did the hair and makeup for the show.  Melissa and Darcy also helped out as models.  Wonderful job everyone!
 

 

  Child Help
What: Child Help Fundraiser
Date: April 1st - April 30th
Where: Ovations Salon & Spa
Details: Ovations teamed up with Eufora to help fundraising efforts in support of Child Help for prevention and treatment of child abuse (www.childhelp.org). Clients donated $1 for a Child Help bracelet, $5 for a Child Help t-shirt, or they donated $10 for a chance to win the "Taste of Ovations" a sampling of services and retail products from throughout the salon and spa valued at almost $1,000! Ovations customers donated $221 over the month of April and Ovations donated $125 of Eufora sales to help as well.  In total we raised $346 for Child Help. 
Notes:  Thank you to all who donated and helped make our Child Help fundraiser a success.  Congratulations to Gina Houmann our grand prize winner!  Gina took home a basket of some of our wonderful products and will enjoy a sampling of services from throughout the salon and spa.
 

 

  Holiday Open House
What: Holiday Open House and Customer Appreciation Day
Date: Sunday, November 29th
Where: Ovations Salon & Spa
Details: December 1st marked our 1st anniversary and we wanted to say Thank You for a great year.  We had a great turn out of customers and had appetizers, wine sampling and discounts for that day only!  Customers received 20% OFF all retail products purchased at the Open House.  They also received 15% OFF any regular priced service booked at the Open House.  There were also some great local businesses showcasing their products and services.

  Healthy Balance
What: Achieving a Healthy Balance Seminar
Date: Saturday, November 7th 2009
Where: BayView Event Center in Excelsior
Details: Women at this seminar learned from local speakers such as Amy Armbrust, Kris James and Echo Bodine.  There were also local businesses showcasing their "healthy" goods and services.

  Curls for a Cure
What: Curls for a Cure
Date: October 1st - October 31st
Where: Ovations Salon & Spa
Details: Ovations teamed up with Ouidad to help fundraising efforts in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrfcure.org).  Ovations customers donated $205 over the month of October and Ovations donated $250 of Ouidad sales to help as well.  Ouidad matched our salon donations of $455 for a total donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of $910.

  KinderCare Carnival
What: KinderCare Summer Carnival
Date: Friday, August 14th 2009
Where: KinderCare (1621 McGlynn Road in Chanhassen)
Details: Mark, Lyn and Christin helped out with Crazy Hair at this carnival event.  The PGA fire hair style was a favorite.
Notes: We hope all the kids enjoyed their crazy hair and that the parents didn't have too much trouble cleaning it all up afterward!
 

 

  Curl's Night Out

Details: In February Ovations became a Ouidad, the curl experts, affiliate salon.  We sent two stylists to New York to learn the specialized Ouidad carve and slice technique, rake and shake styling method and all the details on their specialty line of curly hair products.  This was a fun event to help share some tips and tricks with the curly girls out there and two lucky ladies got to experience the Ouidad cut and style for the first time.
